Carolyn Haines
signing
"Wishbones"
The eighth installment of the popular Bones series.
Carolyn will also be conducting a free workshop on the do's and don'ts of getting published. Haines is the author of 15 books that have been released by some of the industry's leading publishing houses, including Random House, St. Martin's Press, Kensington Press, River City Publishing and Delacorte Press. She also has edited and contributed to several compilations, the most recent being Growing Up in Mississippi published by the University Press of Mississippi. Her work covers several genres', a testament to her creative versatility as a wordsmith. Rave reviews by national and local industry media and a growing audience for her work means strong, consistent sales for the various publishers' who in turn keep her books available in hardcover, trade, and mass market paperback formats.
Haines, a Mississippi native who accidently moved to Alabama after her trailer broke free and rolled downhill across the state line, teaches Creative Writing at the University of Southern Alabama. Her prowess as an instructor and mentor has been road tested with winning results-one of her students from Brookhaven has just signed a two book contract with Random House. She will receive the 2008 Richard Wright Award for Literary Excellence early next year in Natchez.
Please make plans to join us, bring your questions for Carolyn, make plans to eat at the 4 corners restaurant either before, during, or after the workshop, or bring your own lunch. This will be a casual, front porch get together. |
